In the eastern part of the Jewish Quarter of Lan, the largest choral syna- gogue at that time in Galicia was built. The 23-year-long construction project (1842-1865) belonged to the Jewish community of the city headed by the Hasidic Tsarist Laiser-Nissan Tetelbaum. The synagogue in Kassel (1830, Germany) was chosen as a model for the exter- nal design of the Drohobych synagogue. For maintenance of a massive vault the well-known scheme.
